If in Malta a new European parliament would be elected today, the Social Democratic Party PES (Partit Laburista) would receive 51 percent (-3,8pp comp. with June 2009), the Christian Democratic Party EPP (Partit Nazzjonalista) 48 percent (+7,5pp). On other parties accounted 1 percent.
The six available seats in Malta for the European Parliament would thus equally divided among the Social Democrats and Christian Democrats in the ratio 3 to 3. All other parties were left empty. The Social Democrats were losing so a seat for the Christian Democrats.
